Donate New Items

Donate New Items

Thank you for your interest in donating to The Gathering Place. We depend on the generous support of our donors and community partners in order to serve members in the capacity we do. For a list of our most urgent food and toiletry needs, please see the PDF below. If the item you wish to donate is not on the PDF, we will not accept the donation. We have limited storage capacity and therefore must prioritize based on the needs of our members.

If you have food or toiletry items to donate, please contact Program Specialist Leah Weisgal at (303) 996-9046 or to schedule your donation. We can only accept donations during business hours at our facility at 1535 High Street.

Frequently Asked Questions and Important Information

As a general rule, if the item is not listed on our donation wishlist (below), we will not accept it. If you bring an item that we do not accept to our facility, we will not take it. We appreciate the thought, but do not have the capacity or staffing needed to sort donations that aren't a priority to our members. Please, donate it to one of our community partners (listed below) to be sure that your donation ends up in the hands of someone who needs it. Thank you for your understanding.

1. Do we accept toys?

We do not accept new or used toy donations. Thank you for thinking of The Gathering Place, but if you have toys you would like to donate to people in need in Denver, please consult:

2. Do we accept furniture?

We do not accept new or used furniture. If you have furniture you would like to donate, please contact Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver.

3. Do we accept baby items like cribs, car seats, and strollers?

We do not accept cribs, car seats, and strollers. Please contact WeeCycle if you have baby items you would like to donate.

4. Do we accept gently worn clothing?

Due to storage constraints and fluctuating members' needs, we have to be very selective about the type of clothing we accept. We ask that all clothing is delivered to us in great condition (no stains or tears) and that the clothing is appropriate for the current season. If you have gently worn clothing that you would like to donate to The Gathering Place, please contact Program Specialist Leah Weisgal at (303) 996-9046 or to see if we can accept your donation. If we are not accepting clothing at the time, then we will be happy to refer you to other organizations that are in need of clothing donations.
