Posada Printmaking: The Art of Protest
Visiting workshop from Museo de las Americas, one day only! Jose Guadalupe Posada, creator of the Dia de los Muertos skeletons, was a social critic who used images and humor for protest and social change. We will: talk about Posada's art as a tool of resistance, learn printmaking skills, make protest prints about topics of your choice, and write humorous poetry to go with each print.
