Budget Cuts Will Impact TGP Members

The budget proposed by President Trump caught our attention this week. It includes deep cuts to programs and benefits that house, feed, and medically care for millions of low-income families. Where it includes replacement programs, they are ill-defined – as in the case of SNAP being partly replaced with government issued food boxes. Sadly, this idea does not account for health-related dietary needs, lack of a delivery address due to homelessness, no access to a kitchen, and personal preferences. We foresee that these proposed cuts and changes will have negative impacts on our members and will increase the number of people that seek out our services. However, we are grateful to a caring and giving community. Fueled with hope, we can – together – weather the possible the storms ahead.

There are many articles and opinion pieces out there in opposition or support of the Administration’s proposed budget. We suggest taking a look at this article (link below) about the positive impact that SNAP has on families and the economy. What do you think?
