Short Term Volunteer Positions (<3 months)

Kitchen Volunteer – Breakfast Shift
Do you thrive in an upbeat, fun, active environment? Many of our members come here specifically for our meals, and our kitchen volunteers are crucial to keeping our kitchen running. Volunteers in the Kitchen get to work side-by-side with staff to prepare meals, as well as interact directly with members while serving meals.

Shifts are set times:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 8am-10am

Betsy’s Cupboard Volunteer
Volunteers in Betsy’s Cupboard help assemble pre-made food bags. Volunteers assemble 10-15 pound bags for members who have access to a Kitchen and members who would prefer more snacks and meals that don’t require Kitchen access. A great position for volunteers who want to help supply members with an essential resource and help combat food insecurity. In the case that the Cupboard is low on food, you may be asked to sort donations which is a similar concept.

Shifts are typically 2+ hours long:

  • Tuesday: 9am-1pm
  • Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 9am-5pm

Donation Sorting
Do you enjoy behind-the-scenes work? Are you OCD about organization? If you find the idea of seeing storage spaces go from zero to hero, you might make a great Donation Sorting Volunteer. Pop in some headphones and sign up now!

Shifts are typically 2+ hours long:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 9am-5pm
  • Tuesday: 9am-1pm

Computer Lab Volunteer

Shifts are typically 2 hours long:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 9:30am-11:30am, 12pm-3pm
  • Tuesday: 9:30am-11:30am, 11:30am-1:30pm

Gardener (Summer)
Enjoy some sunshine and work on our rooftop! Our rooftop is a beautiful spot with garden beds, a playground for our little members, and several sitting areas. Help keep this area clean and refreshed by trimming bushes, pulling weeds, fertilizing garden beds, and generally caring for our plants and outdoor spaces. This may also include putting away toys and minor trash pickup.

Shifts are typically 2+ hours long:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 9am-5pm
  • Tuesday: 9am-1pm

Family Program Volunteer (Summer)
Do you enjoy playing with Legos, rearranging furniture in a doll house, and eating pretend food? Do you appreciate the artistic talents of three-year-olds? Family Program volunteers are a special group of volunteers that not only answer “yes” to all these questions but are also familiar with either trauma-informed care and/or working with families and kids that have unique living situations.
*Background check required
