International Women’s Day: A Global Call for Gender Equity

International Women’s Day (IWD) is not just for women and feminists. This day does not belong to just one group, organization, or country. It involves everyone around the world in unison in a day of global activism for gender equity and the celebration of women and women’s achievements. This year’s theme for IWD is #InspireInclusion which calls for recognizing and celebrating the intersectional experiences of women and including these unique perspectives in leadership and decision-making processes. This includes all women of all races, ages, abilities, faiths, body images, and identities. When we inspire others to understand and value the inclusion of female voices, we are working to forge a better, more equitable and inclusive world where our differences are valued and celebrated. This is a movement that will not just benefit women — it is for the benefit of humanity.

To our members — we have so much appreciation for all the strength and perseverance that our female identifying members at TGP demonstrate. As low barrier as we try to be, it still takes great dedication to work on ones' self and humility to be able to accept help. We would also like to give a shout out to our incredible transgender community as well, as International Transgender Day of Visibility is on March 31. We welcome our members as they are, wherever they are coming from. We celebrate their successes as our own and we value their input in the creation and execution of many of our programs and service models.

Not only in the spirit of #InspireInclusion, but also in the spirit of change, everyone everywhere can participate in International Women’s Day. All activities are valid, and anyone can act as a positive force for change. Collectively we can all #InspireInclusion.
